APCG Selected to Support the Accounting/Finance Domain of DoD's Business Enterprise Architecture
Washington, D.C. - Advanced Performance Consulting Group, Inc. (APCG) announced that it has been selected to support the Altarum Institute (Altarum) in the area of change management for the Accounting and Finance (Acc & Fin) Domain of the Department of Defense (DoD). The Acc & Fin Domain serves as the primary agent within DoD's Business Management Modernization Program (BMMP) to transform the Department's financial management and accounting operations to make them consistent with the Business Enterprise Architecture (BEA).

Under the current contract, APCG will provide services for strategic communications, performance management, and change management support. Altarum is responsible for overall project management, strategic planning, and business process reengineering.

Altarum and APCG will assist Acc & Fin in transforming and standardizing DoD's accounting structure and financial management business rules, processes, and procedures to make them compliant with the BEA. The long-term goals of the Acc & Fin effort are to deliver reliable, accurate, and timely financial information to DoD decision-makers, and to enable improved business operations in order to provide enhanced support for the Warfighter. One key end-state is to produce unqualified financial statements for the Department.

APCG will work with the DoD Acc & Fin community to model, measure, communicate, and manage the performance of this sweeping business transformation effort.

The Acc & Fin Domain is collaborating with several partners within DoD to develop and provide infrastructure for the end-to-end enterprise business process model and systems within the BEA. This effort will prescribe how acquisition, logistics, financial processes, systems and infrastructure will capture the information necessary to perform core financial functions for the Department.

Altarum and APCG will focus on helping mature the BMMP governance structure, processes and operating guidelines, particularly emphasizing the relationships, roles and responsibilities of the Acc & Fin Domain. Their primary objectives will be to develop and implement a comprehensive strategic communications program for Acc & Fin; implement a performance management program including measurement, data collection, education, and processes; and provide project management support for Acc & Fin change management activities.
