Release Date: June 21, 2004
Washington, D.C. — Advanced Performance Consulting Group, Inc. ( APCG ) today announced the award of a blanket purchase agreement to compete for task orders under the Department of Defense (DoD) five-year, $1 billion Enterprise Software Initiative (ESI). Organizations across DoD will use the agreements to procure enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems integration services. CSC, the prime contractor, estimates the value of its portion of the award to be approximately $250 million.
Under the award, APCG will compete as a subcontractor to CSC for task orders to provide system configuration, integration and installation; data conversion; training; testing; object and interface development; business process reengineering; project and risk management; quality assurance; and other professional services to DoD. APCG will provide an array of change and performance management consulting services to support CSC implementations, including analysis of business needs, organizational assessment, performance measure framework design, strategy and measure development, action planning, and strategic communications.
“We are thrilled to be partnering with CSC on the DoD Enterprise Software Initiative,” said Ms. Kimberly McCabe , APCG co-founder. “ APCG’s expertise in change management, performance management, and strategic communications is an excellent complement to CSC’s outstanding ERP experience. It’s also a great opportunity for DoD to leverage APCG’s knowledge from successful engagements with organizations such as the Defense Information Systems Agency, Office of the Secretary of Defense, and the U.S. Air Force Materiel Command, as well as on DoD initiatives such as the Business Management Modernization Plan.”
"Our experience building ERP systems that produce real results for military clients makes CSC a natural choice for this agreement," said Chris Colen, vice president of the company's ERP Center of Excellence. "We look forward to sharing the best practices we have learned implementing large ERP systems, including the Army's Logistics Modernization program, with other members of the DoD community."
For each task order, CSC will integrate and implement ERP solutions from ERP vendors such as Oracle, PeopleSoft and SAP. The award also permits ordering of implementation services for other COTS software products. The blanket purchase agreement is part of the Enterprise Software Initiative, a multi-organization DoD project to develop and implement a DoD-wide enterprise process to identify, acquire, distribute and manage enterprise information technology (IT) assets. The ESI's objective is to save money and improve information sharing between DoD organizations.
