DoD Financial Management Transformation Team Selects APCG to Continue Performance Management and Strategic Communications Support

Washington, D.C. — Advanced Performance Consulting Group, Inc. (APCG) announced today that it has been selected to continue providing performance management and communications support to the Financial Management Transformation Team (FMTT) within the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense (Comptroller). The FMTT was organized to help lead transformational change within the Department of Defense (DoD) financial management mission area within the Business Management Modernization Program (BMMP). The FMTT is developing enterprise-level financial management requirements, business rules, and data standards for interoperability that will ultimately enable end-to-end integration of the Department's traditionally stovepiped business operations.

Continuing its partnership with the Altarum Institute under the new contract, APCG is assisting the FMTT in improving financial visibility across the Department. The established FMTT communications program is focused on engendering acceptance of current business enterprise initiatives that include the Department's Standard Financial Information Structure (SFIS), Business Enterprise Information Services (BEIS), Intragovernmental Transaction (IGT) initiative, and Program/Budget Framework. APCG is also expanding the performance management capability it successfully established within FMTT over the past 18 months. APCG is extending its work to clarify strategic alignment and field outcome-oriented performance measures with which to report and manage progress against strategic business transformation objectives.

Since contract inception in December 2003, Altarum and APCG have assisted FMTT in reengineering and standardizing DoD's accounting and financial management business rules, processes, and procedures to comply with the DoD Business Enterprise Architecture (BEA). The long-term goals of this effort have been to deliver reliable, accurate, and timely financial information to DoD decision-makers and to deliver improved business capabilities for today's joint warfighting force.
