Governance Development and Leadership Alignment Case Study

During the first phase of establishing a change management program for the Defense Enterprise Accounting and Management System (DEAMS) Functional Management Office (FMO), the APCG team proposed a hierarchical organizational change governance structure. At the team’s suggestion, the Executive Steering Group chartered a Change Management Advisory Council (CMAC) made up of representatives from key stakeholder organizations.

Additional facets of the governance structure included options to charter action teams and establish a cadre of internal change agents. During an exercise designed to align the CMAC leadership, the team facilitated the development of a “Change Vision,” based on critical change criteria identified by CMAC members.
